Constituent Assembly The constituent assembly was formed to framr the Indian constitution. Initially the total strength of the constituent assembly was 389 but after partition it was 299. The election was held in July- August 1946, by indirect election. It was finally constituted on November 1946. All the important personalities accept Mahatma Gandhi and Mohammad Ali Jinnah where the members of this constituent assembly. The first meeting was held on 9th December 1946. ************Dr Rajendra Prasad was the president of this constituent assembly.************The Indian national flag was adopted on 22nd July 1947. National anthem and songs were adopted on 24th January 1950. The last session was held on 24th January 1950 and total 11 sessions were held throughout the period.
